The professionals at Body Specific can help you choose the best massage for you

Trigger Point Therapy

Also known as Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy applies concentrated pressure to “trigger points” (painful irritated areas in muscles) to break cycles of spasm and pain. When pressure is applied to the trigger points the muscle can then relax and the pain is lessened.

This service is offered by Alissa Dundes Schmidt, Dre Allen, Julie Scruggs, Lisa Lahm and Tyler Sharpless.

Swedish Massage

The term “Swedish Massage” refers to a variety of gentle therapeutic massage techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by the use of kneading, long stroking motions, friction, and vibration. This increases the oxygen flow in the blood and releases toxins from the muscles.

This service is offered by all Massage Therapists at Body Specific.

Reflexology

An ancient Chinese technique that uses pressure-point massage (usually on the feet, but also on the hands and ears) to restore the flow of energy throughout the entire body. Reflexology is based on the premise that there are reflexes in our hands, feet and ears that relate to every organ and part of our body. By stimulating these reflexes with pressure and manipulation, nerve function and blood supply may be improved, which may alleviate stress and other health problems

This service is offered by Julie Scruggs, and Melissa Pike.

Reiki

Reiki is a safe and natural method of spiritual healing and self-improvement, which also balances  the chakras (energy centers of the body.)  Very effective with all illnesses and therapeutic treatments, Reiki promotes balance within the nervous system, with far-reaching results.  Administered with a simple laying of the hands, Reiki feels like a warm, subtle current of energy blanketing the body.

This service is offered by Melissa Pike and Nicole Manriquez.

Cupping

Cupping therapists place special cups direct to skin on various parts of the body depending on the areas of pain creating suction. This process is used to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and general well-being.

The service is offered by Julie Scruggs.

Fire & Ice Massage

Fire and Ice Massage is a 75 minute massage specifically designed to aid in deep tissue massage with focused heat followed by targeted coolness for pain relief and trouble areas.

This service is offered by Jake Fritzel & Mara Mueller.

Sports massage

Sports massage prior to an event aids in warming and loosening the muscles so that performance and endurance will be enhanced and risk of injury lessened. Following an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used to relieve pain, prevent stiffness, and return the muscles back to their normal state. It can also be used in injury rehabilitation or ongoing maintenance of the muscles relevant to the event.

Clients must wear loose, athletic wear for this appointment.

This service is offered by Alissa Dundes Schmidt, Dre Allen, Julie Scruggs, Lisa Lahm, Melissa Pike and Tyler Sharpless.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal therapeutic massage focuses on the mother-to-be as she goes through the changes due to pregnancy. Treatment will be focused on the concerns of each trimester. Prenatal massage can help with excess water retention, muscle and joint aches, and mental and physical fatigue. We recommend massage after your first trimester.

This service is offered by Jake Fritzel, Julie Scruggs, Lisa Lahm, Melissa Pike and Tyler Sharpless.
